Now that people are eyeing the moon as the next storage frontier, whether it be for a landfill or cultural preservation. At present using the moon as a landfill would be cost prohibitive. The cost of moving one pound of anything to the moon is currently $100,000, which means that throwing out your television set would cost around $6 million. And of course there are better ways to utilize that space.
